Kim is a doctoral student in the educational psychology program at VCU. She received her bachelor's degree in sociology and master's degree in elementary education from the University of Virginia. While teaching kindergarten for five years, Kim earned a national board certification as an early childhood generalist. She has been a graduate assistant for the BEST in CLASS project for three years while pursuing her doctorate in educational psychology. Coaching teachers is both her job and her passion. Kim’s dissertation topic is family and teacher relationships, focused on students with problem behaviors.
