Chantelle is project coordinator for the BEST in CLASS - Web and BEST in CLASS - Elementary projects. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in May 2016 with bachelor's degrees in psychology and Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies. She joined the McLeod-Sutherland lab and BEST in CLASS In August 2016. Chantelle’s research interests broadly involve the development of evidence-based prevention and intervention programs encouraging positive development of minority children and adolescents, and understanding to what extent ethnic culture, socioeconomic status and other intersectional factors impact implementation. She is particularly interested in the sociocultural messages ethnic minority children internalize, and how those messages impact mental health, education and sexual health choices. Her secondary interests are comparative research on themes surrounding sexuality and sexual health.
