I received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from DePaul University in 2014 and worked as a research assistant for two years before enrolling in the clinical psychology doctoral program at VCU in 2016.

My research interests are broadly related to understanding the dynamics among risk and protective factors for adolescent problem behaviors. My research focuses primarily on ethnic minority adolescents residing in urban, high-burden communities. Understanding how risk and protective factors differentially influence youth can have implications for prevention and intervention programs that bolster urban ethnic minority youths' resilience and promote positive youth development.

I received a fellowship award (NRSA F31) from NICHD to complete my dissertation study and advance my training as a research scientist.
