Alexis Scott
Alexis (Lexi) Scott is an undergraduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s of Social Work and her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology. She has been a part of the Clark-Hill Institute for Positive Youth Development program since February 2020. She was initially hired for the Environmental Assessment team with the previous project, but currently works on the Recruitment team for the new Healthy Communities for Youth project. She was drawn to this work due to her interest in the research aspect of both social work and psychology, and has stayed for her love of serving and being involved in the Richmond Community. She is also currently completing her senior field placement with Communities In Schools (CIS) of Richmond at Blackwell Elementary School. Here, she is able to directly work with Richmond’s youth and families in a school setting through client-centered advocacy to alleviate education barriers. Scott would love to continue her education in either a Master’s degree in clinical Social Work, or a Master’s in clinical mental health counseling, so that she can become a therapist either as a practicing LCSW or as an LPC.
