Camila Tirado, M.S. (she/they) is a 4th year Counseling Psychology doctoral student. Camila is passionate about contextualizing the sociocultural forces that shape the lived experiences of communities. Their research and clinical work center on strength-based approaches, integrating mindfulness, compassion, and contemplative practices to address trauma, maladaptive coping, addiction, and to promote healing. Camila is a NIDA Diversity Supplement awardee, a student editorial board member for the Journal of Latinx Psychology, the president of the VCU Latinx Graduate Student Association, and a recipient of the Mind & Life Institute’s Varela Grant in support of their dissertation
