DeMoni is a doctoral student in Dr. Chelsea Williams’ EMPOWER Youth Lab. She earned
a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and
a master’s degree in Psychological Science from the University of North Carolina
Wilmington. Her research interests center on the interconnectedness of racial identity, belongingness,
culture, and psychological well-being, with particular interest in how these factors shape
developmental experiences and outcomes among Black and Latine youth.
