Advancing Multilingual Youth Success Through Networked Improvement Communities
Co-investigators: Chelsea Williams, Ph.D.
Funding: William T. Grant Foundation Institutional Challenge Grant
This research-practice partnership between Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and Richmond Public Schools (RPS) uses Networked Improvement Communities to develop family-centered approaches for supporting pathways to postsecondary success. The collaboration implements Plan-Do-Study-Act cycles across multiple middle schools to foster family belonging and agency as key levers for student success.
In addition to the immediate goal of better outcomes for Richmond’s multilingual youth, the longer-term goal of the grant is to continue to build the partnership between VCU and RPS, and make collaborative and community-engaged research sustainable!
This project is funded by the William T. Grant Foundation Institutional Challenge Grant, and a collaborative partnership led by Dr. Danielle Green-Bell and Victoria Gochez in RPS and Dr. Williams, Dr. Jesse Senechal, & Dr. Hillary Parkhouse at VCU!
