Alliance for Latino Youth Mental Health and Advocacy
Investigators: Gabriela León-Pérez, Ph.D. and Rosalie Corona, Ph.D.
Funding: Jeffress Trust Partnership/Collaborative Establishment Award
The goal is to identify and examine the “upstream” conditions (e.g., systems, structures, policies) that provide the context within which mental health inequities occur among Latino youth in Richmond. This is a community-academic partnership in collaboration with Waymakers Foundation, Richmond Public Schools, the City of Richmond’s Office of Immigrant and Refugee Engagement, and the Richmond Henrico Health District. We have also created Latino Youth and Parent Advisory Councils made up of Latino community members whose voices, perspectives, and concerns inform our work.
