About
I am a Community Psychologist with training in developmental psychology, social work, and African American studies. In my research, I examine how racial and family processes, like parent-child communication about race, can be leveraged to promote racial equity and foster the holistic wellbeing of Black and Bi/Multiracial youth in the U.S. In this work, I rely on a variety of research methods and intersectional frameworks to understand how the intersection of multiple social identities (e.g., gender, ethnicity, race) differentially shape the experiences and service-needs of racially marginalized youth and families. My research has been funded by the National Science Foundation and various agencies including the Society for Research on Child Development and Society for Community Research and Action.
